Top 2 wrestlers will advance to the PJW “Youth” State Finals on April 1^st & 2^nd, 2016 at the Erie Insurance Arena, Erie

 

Thursday, March 17 – Weigh ins (5 Locations)

6:00 – 7:30      Meadville High School

6:00 – 7:00      Thiel College,  Sharpsville HS,  Grove City HS and  Titusville American Legion

 

All of the following will take place on 4 mats.  Times are approximate!!  Wrestlers should be ready to wrestle 30 minutes prior to times listed.

 

Friday, March 18

5:45   –          Coaches Meeting – Lower gym

6:00   –          Preliminary round of 16 – (8-U), (9-10), (11-12)

6:45   –          Quarterfinals & Consy Round #1 – (8-U) and (9-10) only

 

Saturday, March 19

8:45   –          Coaches Meeting – Lower gym (If necessary)

9:00   –          Quarterfinals –      (11-12)

9:30   –          Consy Round #2 –             (8-U), (9-10), (11-12)

10:30 –         Semi-finals & Consy Round #3 – (8-U), (9-10), (11-12)

12:30 –         Consy Semis –        (8-U), (9-10), (11-12)

“Break”

2:00   –          Parade of Champions & Award Ceremony

2:15   –          Championship Finals(Mats #1 & #2) & Consy Finals(Mats #3 & #4)

3:30   –          True 2^nd Matches on mats #3 & #4 as required

 

Awards will take place in the main entrance area.  Wrestlers will be called to receive their awards.

 

1^st place –       Medal, Champion shirt & Champion bag

2^nd place –       Medal & Qualifier shirt

3^rd place –       Medal

4^th place -        Medal

 

All state qualifiers will get an Area VI singlet to wear at the state championship tournament.  Singlets must be returned at the state tournament.  “STATE CHAMPIONS” get to keep the singlet.

 

Every match has been given a specific number and Mat number.  Therefore, every mat will advance 4 numbers at a time.  For example, Mat #1 bout numbers will start on Friday as follows:  1 followed by 5 followed by 9.  Mat #2 will go:  2 then 6 then 10 and so on.
